Guys I'm going to put some 35's on
I've only seen this done on the Artic Trucks and so far the biggest problem I have seen is getting flares made to cover the wider wheel base. I'm currently investigating this at the moment and getting pricing.
My steps will be this
1. Change diff ratio from 3.73 to 4.10 or 4.56 (the latter is much cheaper therefore I will most likely use this)
2. Trim fenders to fit 35's - I want to make sure I can still flex....at least in the rear anyway!
3. Install custom flares to cover wheels
4. HD Spings - Perhaps I could remove the front sway bar to gain a little more travel and not sacrifice the onroad handling with the HD springs??
5. Go and find some mud and test them out
As far as costs go
1. 4.56 diff gears can be imported from the states for $2000 (includes front and rear ring and pinions, rear pinion flange, rear solid pinion spacer ,mini installation kits and 5hours local labour to fit).
2. Flares - unknown as yet
3. 35's (315x75R16) - Most likely MTZ's or BFG KM2's on a set of Dymanic rims 0 offset - $2500 or i may buy second hand
4. HD Kings - $330
As far as road worthyness it's probably not going to be hehe - might try and get an engineering cert??
Feedback welcome!
