Resale values

I am not very impressed with the resale value of the Prado. I can only assume that no one wants the shorty. I have loved owning it and it is a lot nicer to drive around town than the LWB, better acceleration and better fuel economy. I did however expect them to hold their price a bit better. I have only been offered $35k for a 2010 ZR.

Oh well, will have to try and get a good deal on the vehicle I buy.

ouch, must be just limited demand, the 5 door doubles as a family truck. The 3 door has a smaller market , I guess.

How many KM's has it done? You could have 200k by now, in which case 35k would be a good price:wink:

Would be disappointing, but can't say I'm surprised. SWB have always had a limited market, and market demand drives prices.

Adam the Shorties of your last brand are sitting at about 50% against new for the 2007/2008 models ie and X for $25K against $50k new depending on the usual factors, how does that compare?

We had a shorty many years ago (absolutely loved it) and when #2 baby was on the way we decided on more space. Initially the trade in offered was rubbish so I was going to try selling privately until I had a telephone call from the dealer not many days later agreeing to the changeover I wanted. He then asked if I could bring the car in later that week for an 'inspection'. Turns out they had an enquiry for a shortie and we did the deal as did the others.

As usual it is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it and with a shorty sadly that means a target market of fewer people.

Adam , what kms have you done. I have had three ZR prados now and have sold each with around 15 -25km on the clock and have got $56-63k for mine. (Yip, made money on one of them based on new price i paid)
By the way , dealer can sell them new too you for as low as $61k drive away from the right dealer.
