I have recently returned from a trip to Pandanus Park, the veterans retreat in Nth Qld, on the way home I stopped after a particularly rough stretch of road, when I steated the car again I found that the auto gears were very sticky, I have discovered that I have dust in the sealed cable and there is not one to be found in Aus, has anyone else had this problem??

Never heard of this , on my third ZR now and have travelled many a dusty roads and nothing to report like this...

As a further update to my post, Toyota have also never heard of this problem and have sent the offending cable back to Japan for inspection, I have asked for a report but I don't like my chances of getting one
