    Brown Davis bash plate fitted to my 150

    Hi all. A number of people have been asking about bash plates in general and the Brown Davis bash plate. Well after looking around and reading lots on PP and other forums I took the plunge and contacted Brown Davis on last week and asked about the bash plate and a couple of other items. As I was going out with the club over the long week end they fitted me in on Friday morning. 25 minutes later I was driving off with the bass plate fitted and a big smile.

    Very happy with the strength of the plate. Note the rings welded around the lower bolts to protect them from what’s about to hit them.

    I will take some more photos on the weekend to show the side view and the box welded into the centre part to provide strength.

      Looks great . So is that the supplied ARB cover plate that comes down from the bar bolted onto the BD bash ?

        Spewin I dont think the fit the Kakadu YET, I would like a set.

          Yes the ARB bar fits directly to it. At the far end there is also going to be an option for a further plate to keep going back but not available yet. They need someone who can give them access to a 150 so they can develop one for it.

            Give them a call. I don't think there is anything on the Kakadu that would stop it from fitting. The differences in the suspension are at the top end (I think).

              How much does a full set of bash plates cost for the 150?

                At the moment they only make the first plate (As shown), but they stated that they intend to make the further plates when they can get their hands on a Prado to design and test the fitting of the plate. There are fittings at the end of the plate for fitting the next part so I hope it won’t be too long.

                That plate was $450 and after seeing the difference between this one and the original (which had a few dings in it) I think it was worth it.

                  Here are the other photos.

                  Side view shows the box built into the centre section. This should just about guarantee that it can never bend in and damage the components in this area.

                    Looks great mate, it didnt take me long to bend the crap out of mine with a few minor knocks, recon i will get a set.

                      Yes, I saw a couple damaged so I got mine put in before it had the chance.
