TJM Type 13 - back log

Hi All,

Ordered my Type 13 TJM Bar and Side steps today, thought I would let people know that there seems to be a ~6-8 week wait on them.....

Here are the dates I got.

1. Type 13 - 20/5/2012
2. Side Step - ~8/6/2012

Mine was $2061 colour coded and fitted.

Bar $1600 --> No Fitting or Colour, I will do myself.
Steps $550 --> TJM side steps for 150 (Steel) Not fitted, I wil do myself.

..$1661 colour and fitted!! good price!

ARB is also experiencing shortages.
I have been waiting two weeks with another two to go.

Nice looking bar but that's where it ends.
Had mine on for 18 months now and it's showing signs of fatigue.
Those inserts they use are rubbish also and rub on the bar.
1 Simpson desert trip and I need new plastic inserts and a repaint

If I had my time again it would be ARB even though they are butt ugly.
Also if you intend on doing any serious outback travel leave in black

I believe they have improved the "inserts" (hope so) over time, and having a neighbour who is a automotive paint specialist doesn't hurt .

The Plastic inserts you talk of, is that the one with the "Chrome loop"?

My TJM store cut the bumper and left a good gap between the bumper and bar so my I am sure will be good for many years to come.

My inserts have rubbed so bad they are worn away in some places.
This in turn has worn paint of the bar.
I will have this fixed soon when I fit a winch.

The coragations were the killer for the inserts.
Hopefully the new inserts will have better clearance.

The clearance is set by the installer. In the instruction it states there should be around 25 mm gap left. Mine has this and doesn't rub at all even on bad corrugations. I do have to return them to the painter to get resprayed. I prefer the infix to the bumper cut. Also I didn't really have a choice as the wife damaged the front plastic bar, the week before I was having the bulbar installed.

Looks like Christmas has come early!!!

My Side Steps and BullBar have arrived, pickup tomorrow 2 weeks early. So for anyone else with gear on order you may get a surprise!

Hoping to have them colour matched and fitted this weekend, will post pick's when can.
