Glacier White Powder Coat Colour Matching

Just curious if anyone has found a powder coat colour that is an identical (or as close to) match to Toyota's Glacier White?

I want to colour match an ARB bar and side steps, but want to stay with a powder coated finsh for durability (especially on the side steps).

Don't know the answer to this one but I had noticed that the bumper does not match the panel paint on mine and to prevent three whites in close proximity I left the ARB bar in black. I won't say it looks better than a nice clean colour coded bar but it hides bugs and scratches much better. PS The GX has black mirrors, door handles and sills so it followed the theme to go with the black bar.

I had my ARB bar painted white over the powder coating, the local spray painter added a different thinner / hardner that makes it go really hard. IMO it is as good or even better than powdercoating. Powder coating comes in a relativly limited number of colours so I doubt you would get an exact match.

Not sure about details on the paint hardner but I imagine any good painter would understand.

Cheers mate, I will look into this. Did you organise it through ARB or did you just buy the bar unpainted and take it to the local painter yourself?

I took it to the local painter myself, I live in the country and the nearest ARB store is 2 towns away. Price was cheaper than the standard ARB price anyway, I paid around $200 from memory to have it painted.

I changed my order from a plain black bar to a white bar with ARB yesterday (the outlaws bought the exact same car as me and put a black bar on it.. like I'd ordered .. no originality on their part it seems), it was an extra $220, didn't think that was too bad and much easier than trying to get it done elsewhere. The reason I originally ordered black was I wasn't sure how the painted bar would wear .. but I guess now I'm going to find out!

Last ARB tour I went on had powder coating facilties only. I understand they outsource the painting, Sam can confirm.

I had mine done to match the car by ARB. They told me all the bars are powder coated from the factory and the colour matched ones just get sprayed over by their local spray painter after preparation. Yo have to look real close to see the depth of colour isn't a perfect match but I'm happy with mine. If you're really fussy then pay for an extra coat or two.

I have the Sahara bar colour coded by ARB in white on a D4D 150GXL. It is only about 6 weeks old so far and as you would expect there are no real problems. Being white it does show up dead bugs a lot, but if you get onto it quickly, they wash off easily. No nicks or scratches so far.

My white ARB deluxe bar has been on my 150 over two years now and I think there are about 3 or 4 chips not noticeable until you get right up to the bar, we have done about 25000 off road k's (gravel included in that).

Well i dont know what the problem is with mine but its getting replaced by ARB when they get stock, theres something went wrong with the powdercoating process because there rust on every hole and joint on the bar.

Its colour coded white and the rust is coming through that too.

I get security bollards made up in steel all the time and get them powder coated Dulux X15 orange. I recently had this discussion with the powder coaters.... about matching colours and their answer back was you cant mix powder coat colours to make other colours. They come only in the colours that they are made and the only way to match whites or other colours is to wet spray them.
