Kaymar rear wheel carrier

Just wanted to know from those that have them fitted to their Prados whether with the dual wheel carrier you need to remove the factory Toyota rear door handle and number plate mount and replace it with the Kaymar item as in the picture below. I bloody well hope not, it looks puss.

Yes you do have to replace it... But when you have both wheels hanging off it you can't see it anyway.

Im leaving my wheel on the door for now, until I decide what Im going to do. I agree, the single carrier with the door set up looks like the dogs breakfast.

If you don't mind waiting a few months wait for the 4wd show when kaymar comes across and you should get a good deal. The best cut bumpers I've seen are from ARB regency park.

Yeah I'll wait, I have untill Easter to finish my buildup by then I would like to be ready for anything really. Now to source a cheap rim.

I got mine for $4300 fitted and colour coded from ARB regency park adelaide its exspensive but worth the money. Just make sure they put all the bolts in, ARB forgot to put in about 4 bolts around where the hitch is.They told me the fitter forgot.

Just a thought, but was riding on the Kwinana fwy the other day and came up behind a 150 series 4 door that didn't have the tyre mounted on the door. My guess an import from another country, still RHD though.
Looked very neat, similar to 200 series and appeared to have separate window opening as well, not keen to trade 2nd tank though.
Although knowing how Toyota charge for parts, I'd hate to think what the door would cost.

i would love to replace the rear door with a hatch, afaik they have them in NZ.. im sure its not a cheap thing to replace tho..
Replacing the door with a hatch and having a dual carrier would be ideal
