  • Ds60 drop slide and Waeco CF80 in the back of a 150 GXL - does it fit?

Does anyone know if a Ds60 drop slide and a Waeco cf80 fit in the back of a 150 GXL? Is there enough length available if a cargo barrier is installed?

Anyone have pics of this (or a similar setup)?

I brought a cf80 yesterday, but now a bit concearned about the size and not sure if i should try and change it for a smaller one. Vehicle delivery is still about a week away so I cant actually test it yet.

The DS60 is a big slide. 926mm (+20mm for the lock in front) long x 642mm (+20mm for nyloc nuts) wide. Hopefully there's a member out there who will be able to stick there head in the back of their 150 for you and measure the distance from door to barrier. Good Luck...

I have a CF80 and installed the handles on it. As my kids are all still in car seats our rear seats are adjusted all the way toward the rear. I you put the fridge in length ways you CANNOT close the rear door. I don't have a slide so can't comment on that. I only wanted a 60L job but the wife insisted on the 80L one. I plan to put ours in a Camper Trailer when we buy one so shouldn't be an issue. As they are a big fridge to lift solo, I'd recommend getting a mate to help lift and move it around the rear of your 150.

I fell into another spot of bother. The 150 GXL doesn't have 12V in the rear cargo area. So I had to buy an extension to reach the one at the back of the centre console. Didn't run to well due to voltage drop. Now I am installing the dual battery setup. If you haven't installed one I recommend you do.

I have been told they will fit but you have to remove the carry handles.

          Agreed,

I test drove the Altitude before buying, took it straight home, lifted the fridge in there. With a cargo barrier, I reckon you will need to remove the rear handle...
I have yet to fit my 80 waeco in there yet, due to awaiting some mods first.....
But hey, handle are only a couple of screws....

Thanks for your help guys. Looks like i may need to invest in a smaller one and save the 80 for the ct (when funds permit).

I have been told delivery will be on the 11th of june so i can confirm then.

Just a tip, the Waeco fridges (CF-50 and above ) don't fit in the slide of a Johnno's "Evolution" camper trailer. You would need a Engel or an Evacool - the Waecos are too tall.

                Hi,
I have a Waeco cf80 on a drop down slide in my 150 GXL, on top of a set of Drifta drawers. It fits fine with the rear handle on and the hold down attachment brackets toward the front of the slide. No problem.

More pics of the fridge and drawers.
Fridge slide is MSA brand and drawers system is Drifta.
I had the guys from Drifta install everything and couldn't be happier with product and service.
Same day the did the Prado, I had them install drawers to under the bed of my hardfloor camper.

                            Regards, Ian

                              Ian,

Awesome setup, something to really be proud of. I am not quiet sure sow close things will be if I get a cargo barrier installed also, but something to measure up indeed.

Wife is keen for the dropdown slide too
