I am about to embark on a DIY false floor set-up for my 150 GXL as I want to remove the rear seats, install a cargo barrier and mount a removable fridge slide. I am not keen on putting a full draw system in due to the cost of the draws as well as not wanting to make the back of the car any higher than it is already (the four legged fur-kid needs to be able to jump in and it's getting old!).
Has anyone successfully mounted a barrier for a 5 seat into the rear of a 7 seat (with the seats removed) and can you post a photo or two showing how the barrier fits and how you secured the bottom of it to the floor?
Milford have been nice enough to send me some drawings of both their 5 seat and 7 seat barriers and by looking at those, it appears the only difference is the height of the barrier (obviously the 7 seat one is shorter since it mounts to the top of the seats). In theory I believe the 5 seat barrier will fit, but without purchasing a barrier I don't know if the shape of the 7 seat rear trims are going to cause any problems.
My plan so far is to mount the bottom of the barrier to a custom bracket on the false floor, that way it should be easier to remove and I don't need to drill the guards (that some barriers require).
