Noisey roof racks

I just fitted 3 Rhino Sportz racks to my new Prado and find they are very noisey at 100kph and unbearable at 110kph

Just wondering if anyone has had this same problem and found a quick fix?

Have you got the rubber inserts in the top slots on your racks, when I ran without the rubber in my Heavy duty racks they became very noisey

Yes, they have been assembled and mounted as per the instructions

I have a GX 150 with Pinoneer platform on 2 bars and there seems to be very little noise. Get more noise from the snorkel.....

Yea I know mine is the 120 prado but my rhino sports cross bars on my genuine toyo rails with the max trax pins and can't notice any difference right up to 140kph

I have a 150 GXL with the Rhino sportz bars (2) fitted to the rails and they are silent up to 120/130kph.

Must be something wrong with the way they are mounted. Maybe we can help if you post some pics.

I've also got a 150GXL with 2 Rhino Sportz bars and they are silent up to about 120-130kph. I have the shovel mountings and eye bolts almost always on as well with no negative effects.

@Cuvier..... what configuration have you mounted your 2 rails? Front and rear, middle and rear or front and middle?

BTW, I'm a tradie and they are mounted correctly........ I'm very meticulous with my work. (will get pic soon anyway )

Front an rear on the GXL rails 890mm appart to suit the Traxmax. You can't really mount them anyfurther appart due to the rail configuration.

Bolt, do you have a GX with no rails?

It's a GXL but I removed the bars and mounted the Rhino Sportz

Me either, is there a slot in the bottom of the extruded alloy bar in this model? like the T slot on top? if so is it sealed with a rubber strip also?

You could try taking one bar off at a time and seeing if one is causing turbulence for one behind it and this is creating the noise?

I agree. Or remove all the bars expect for the front one and go from there.
