Hi all, I'm thinking of ordering an original Toyota tow bar for my new gxl which will be delivered next month. How much should I look at paying for it from the dealer?

Shop around, I got mine fitted by TJM and paid $830 for a Hayman Reese unit. I was spewing because a mobile fitter got back to me (after I committed to TJM) with a price of $695 fitted and wired and my place (BTW I'm in Melbourne). Basically I didnt get any accessories for Toyota for my GXL other than them chucking in floor mats. I paid $630 for my Toyota kit with everything. I got mine thrown in with the roof racks and matts. But it was a business purchase and we have a few cars so it might have been because of that.

got the price then added what I wanted e.g towbar.
then negotiated from there.

Toyota wanted $1250 for the HR tow bar I got for $830 (and could have got for $695). Better in my pocket than theirs. I got roof rack, cargo area mat and rubber floor mats with the savings.Originally posted by kenny5000 View PostComment
