    Thanks Dugite57,

Yep, I was worried it would be that big.

Might have to look at putting it under the seat. Although there does seem to be a lot of space in front of the driver behind the dash.

Try under the glovebox on top of the panel underneath it. My Uniden fits there nicely, just removed a small section of the sound matting to make room.

Yeah, I had a look at that after reading your install thread.
It was the place I was going to go to first, but I think the unit will just be too big.
I'll get the unit and check it out though, as that is a great spot, keeps the antenna length short, right next to the firewall access etc.
Otherwise I'll pull the passenger seat and have a go at that.

I put my Icom IC-450 beside the glove box, it is tight but with some good 3M double sided sticky pads it is on the side of the car and fits nicely

Works well so far and is out of the way.

          Regards

            Thanks Aiden,

Bit hard to tell, is that on the right or left of the glovebox?

It is on the left of the glove box. There wasn't enough room on the right, behind the center of the dash, to mount it on a large flat area that I could find, and the only solid part there I have mounted the red arc towpro on.

Mine is behind the glovebox and i stuck some foam to it and then velcro to attach it against the computer. The foam keeps it insulated form the computer and all the excess cable is neatly rolled and behind there as well. Have had no dramas at all with the 450. Love it.

Used the extension cable that was included and cut one end and re-terminated in the socket.
Works a treat and the handset can be easily and tidily removed when in wife mode.

Don't suppose you remember how it was punched into the rear of that RJ45 socket. As in colours and terminals as you mentioned you cut it. I've got one of those RJ45s but was curious how you connected it.

From memory, I think I chopped the end off the cable then plugged the chopped end with the original plug in to the socket with the wires stripped back. Then just find each each pin one at a time with a multimeter and terminate to the socket.
