  • Bluetooth Drop Out - Nokia E71

    Hi Team

Posting for a mate with a new 150 VX.

Anyone had issues with the bluetooth not staying connected on the Nokia E71? Been through the set up and everything connects OK initially but immediatley drops out?

    Any thoughts?

    Cheers

    Greg

Does he have a time out set on the Bluetooth of the E71?

    Just a thought

      Greg,

I'm not sure about the Bluetooth Pairing on the 150, but I have a Nokia E-71 and have no problems at all with pairing and staying paired on my 2008 120series. Your best bet for a ya mate would be to speak to the dealers service department.
They should have a list of compatible mobile handsets.
Or ya could try another phone with the Bluetooth in the car, just to check that it's not the phone at fault.
Nokia's are generally pretty comptible though.

Cheers guys. Must be a phone issue as other handset works.

Stewy - are you happy with the bluetooth sound quality? Callers tell me my E71 sounds like crap from the other side. I am dicing the 120s bluetooth and going with a nokia car kit.

My BT drops out as soon as I go away from the BT area on my phone Nokia6120. So I went back to the dealer who tried to pair his phone and the same problem occured.
We went to the service dept and they said it was a known problem and would fix it on the first service. He also said they had had problems with the sound quality using the BT but can be fixed.

I have had a few problems with blue tooth not connecting on entry to the vehicle with my Nokia 6210. I noticed this only occurs when I have the key and the phone in the same pocket. If I have them in different pockets then not a problem.

So after 13 weeks I have had the radio replaced and guess what! it (Nokia 6120) does not work still. So I updated the phones firmware (to 7.1)and tested it and it still does the same thing. So not the fight starts. I did not pay that ammount of money on a car not for a simple thing like that to work. Nokia claim they are BT compliant and so does Fijitsu (Manafacturer of radio who apparently has a list of phones that will not work with their radio and wont tell anyone which ones they are) so in theory they should work.
              Not really happy yet.

I have a Nokia 6120 and have no problems with connection. I do have a problem when I try and transfer the contacts, it doesn't work. This was the same with the Nokia (recent model) I just got rid of too ..... I thought I might buy a different brand phone and try to pair it and transfer contacts but I am not made of money !!!
I have the Kakadu model if that makes any difference??

Re: Bluetooth Drop Out - Nokia E71

My old Nokia e71 used to drop out all the time using my BlueAnt hands free in the last car.

Definitely a phone issue and not the car.

My old man's Nokia e95 didn't work in his new BMW either so he upgraded to a Blackberry.

I have found the sound quality excellent using my iPhone.

Re: Bluetooth Drop Out - Nokia E71

Check out the other threads on this forum. People have had mixed results with the 6120 and a few other Nokia phones. I ended up replacing both of my 6120's and ended up with a Nokia 2730 and a Sony 'Experia X10, both work fine and the quality is good according to callers. The mic volume and the speaker volume are linked, so if you have it turned right up, the mic picks up wind noise.

There appears to be some incompatibility between certain Nokia phones, the salesman advised me of this the day I picked up our VX. If you want a phone that pairs with no issues, try any of the Sony products, I have not found one of these that does not work.

                    Cheers

                    Thy
