Gday Folks,
I have a question about surface rust appearing on my colour coded ARB deluxe winch bar and would like some opinions and experiences. (or link me if there is a discussion thread about this already that I havent found)
I have a white 2011 150 GX and had a new colour coded deluxe winch bar installed by ARB in December 2016.
The prado is my wifes (soccer mum car) during the week and we have a 2.5yr old and a 6 mth old so it doesnt do many kms. We use the vehicle for occassional weekend trips away and a couple of longer 2 or 3 week trips. With kids this age I do not get to go beach driving or fishing so the vehicle has seen very limited beach driving and has never been driven through salt water. We live about 1.5kms from the coast in Mandurah WA.
Now I've recently noticed surface rust appearing along most of the back of the top edge of the bar and what I would like to know is if I should expect to see rust after only 2 years on the vehicle.
I realise there are plenty of variables at play and I am guilty of not washing the vehilce as I am time poor but any opinions/experiences are welcome.
Am I being a dick or is this a valid question? It stems from me being lazy and dont much feel like rubbing the bar back and applyng touch up paint to a piece of steel that I payed $2.5k for.
Cheers
Joel
