  • Annoying Bluetooth problem - no Auto Selelect on missing BT

I just thought id vent for a minute. Whilst I love the 150, the bluetooth in it drives me crazy. This has to be the first car with BT that ive ever had that does not automatically connect the next BT phone in the list, if the first one isnt available.

IE; two phones, Phone A, Phone B. Wife drives car with Phone A, i get in car and drive with Phone B. To use BT with Phone B I have to go into the menu on the stereo and select my phone. On every other car I've had, the BT system will automatically try and connect the last connected device. If that phone isnt available, it will try the next and keep going through the list of phones until one connects.

Is there a way to make the 150 BT system do this? I cant seem to find any way, apart from manually selecting the relevant phone everytime you get in the car.
My Rig: 150 GXL D4D, Tough Dog adjustable suspension with 60mm lift, Polyair bags, ARB Winch Bar, Warn Winch with Dynamica Rope, Outback Ideas recovery points, GME UHF, HID Low/High Beam, Lightforce Genesis HID Spots, Dual Battery Setup with rear power outlets, ARB air compressor in engine bay, ~30L Watertank mounted behind fueltank.

i've had a look at this and i couldn't figure it out either.. what's worse is when it doesn't connect to the BT on my iphone at all, and i have to turn the car off and back on again to get it to connect.

what i REALLY wish for is something similar to my wifes Ford G6E. i'm not 100%, BUT, i think it remembers the settings based on the key that unlocks the car. so if i unlock it, it reconnects my phone. if the wife does it, it connects hers. a nice little feature is that it also sets my temperatures, moves my seat and changes the radio back to the way i like it, apart from the few other things like mirrors, pedals, dash displays etc..

I've raised this with toyota today, they didn't understand at first and tried to blame it on my phone. Apparently they are going to ask toyota about it

Well the service centre proved their worth once again, they "Claim" to have asked toyota and got a "by design, no changes planned" feedback, however I have my doubts that toyota was actually contacted.

I thought I would resurrect this old thread.

I have the same issue as the op. My work around is to push the off hook button on the steering wheel, then navigate through the menu system on the stereo to select a different phone. Painful, but it works.

Just wondering if anyone had a better solution to the problem? i.e. you record the name for the phone when you pair it, can you use voice recognition to select a different phone? If so, how does this work?

          Thanks for the Help.
          Andrew.

hey same problem as others so we installed a combo unit dvd gps etc etc, we have 4 phones that connect to the unit, so basically who ever gets in first snags the BT, as each individual gets in at anytime it automatically connects with their phone and even saves the individual phones contacts seperatly, love it...
