LED Driving Lights

Folks,
Anyone had any experience with LED driving lights in place of HID or normal spot lights. I notice Snake Racing have LED driving lights and sing their praises. Interested in real world use.

I would be interested to hear the price on those Snake Racing LED driving lights. From the look of them they are a strip rather then the traditional driving light shape. I also believe they have about four different ones, each one being longer and brighter.

The price on a 20 inch bar is $580 according to the Snake Racing Web Site. Form what I can gather I think this would be sufficient but being a new thing on the market I am wary of the actual real world perrformance. From 20 inch up to 50 inch they come in a combination spot and flood beam.

Would one light bar count as one light only or would you have to count each LED :? ? But doesn't matter how you look at it, would it be legal for on road use since there has been quite a bit of chat about having an even number of lights to be legal and the number of lights is also in question.

Apart from those questions the light does look the goods in the ads 8) .

Laws need to change BUT I beliueve as part of the law, not only the number of lights is limited but the light output. So no you couldn't get away with saying that four big mothers attached to the front of your rig is fine if the total lumens is more than what the law says is legal. And it would probably look rather weird.

Yes there is a limit to the total light output.

The LED light bars are not legal for on road use. Highlight the small print on the Snake website at the bottom of the page... grey on black.. It states...

"All products mentioned on this web site are for off road use only. We recommend checking with the transport authority in your state and obtaining a engineers report for all modifications that are carried out."

Pick up a Lightforce HID upgrade kit for $200 ish per light, now that makes a difference! My new 50 watt 240 HID's are incredible!
