Drivers Seat wear- Warranty Issue?

Our 2012 VX is showing lots wear of the drivers seat at only 12,000 klms. Same as the 120, the foam padding has collapsed.
Surely Toyota fixed this? Is this a warranty claim?
I am sure Toyota US would not accept this sort of poor quality, why do we get it here?

You can try Mumstruk but I didn't get anywhere with trying to get the wear on the leather itself fixed under warranty. Granted my Kakadu had done around 50000K but it was still in warranty, I was told it's a wear and tear issue. I agree, the foam padding should last more than 12,000kms. Mine is looking a bit ordinary too, like it's all wrinkled and squished under the cover.

I had the leather cover replaced 3 times on my 120.
It's lasted longer this time but ultimately gone again.

I had the same problem on my 03 Prado, foam falling apart at about 5,000klms. They replaced the entire seat under warrenty. Have not had the same problem with my 09 Prado and she's got 165,000klms on it.
I might have lost some weight between then and now ......nah!

My 150 VX has also had the drivers side seat base replaced under warranty at 18K, was starting to wear badly but I got it approved on the fact the stitching was starting to pull through the leather on the seam on the front right hand side corner.

Was an easy warranty claim, took 2 weeks to come in and a day to replace.

I am tempted to try again as the new base is worn a tad at 45K, it's covered under the extended warranty as well.

The right side of the base of the seat is sagging (foam compression) on the edge and side mainly due to the way you tend to slide off the seat when you get out. I never had this issue in the 90 series. My wife and I are both under 80kg so its not us causing it to sag!!

Mine seems to be doing that too, it's mainly on the edge of the bolster and just looks a bit squished. Had my 95 series for 10 years and never had an issue with the seat upholstery, not even a hole in the cloth.

Natures way of telling you it's time to have a real hard look at your lifestyle!

I will qualify that statement by adding that my seat-covers are fraying a little on the entry/exit side.

My wife and I are both under 75kg......so design/materials is the problem. You could say that you should not slide off the seat when getting out but I would say yeah but this didn't happen in the 90 series.

And sometimes you have no choice with tight suburban parking spaces. here's one extreme example :-





And the truck driver couldn't understand why I was upset! And yes he parked there after me, lucky I folded in the mirrors! You can see how narrow the spots are from the white lines, sometimes you have to slide out of your seat because you can't open the door very wide.
