Auto transimission thud into first gear?

Hi guys, I have a Prado 2010 GXL Diesel auto, 15,000km only, it has a thud (can feel it no noise though) when the box slips into first gear when you break and nearly stop then go again, or stop completely. Does anyone else have this?
Took it to Toyota to sort out, imagined the Transmission Control needed re-programing or something however when I picked it up was the same so asked some questions and was told it was a 'known characteristic' for the car and they couldn't do anything until Toyota head office came up with a fix program for it. The guy did however agree it's terrible on a new car and will do damage eventually...I'm looking at approaching them next week again for a fix, new transmission or new car!??!

Would be very interested if anyone else has had this problem?

It's the drive train clunk that's the biggest thread on the 120 section. There's also a thread on the 150 section. Just search for drive train clunk.

It can be fixed/lessened by Toyota regreasing the drive train. Heaps of info on the forum about it. I had mine regressed and haven't noticed it since. Apparently mine was undergreased from the factory by about 20%!

It's supposed to also be a service item each time too.

Thankyou Sam and Gympiebrowns, I will pump some extra grease into it and see what happens. Have read the other posts and yes sounds like it might be the tail shaft, but gee it feels like the box shifting into first! And strange that the service guy agreed/acknowledged to me that it was the auto transmission and a programming thing??? Anyway time will tell I suppose, will pump it full of grease and see what happens.

Ben, I thought the same but believe me it's the shaft binding. Get ready for a messy underside mate as the grease will spray out and get blown back.
