  • E-Locker

Following the review on diff locks in 4WD Action, I thought I would chase Harrop Engineering to see if the had a E-Locker for the 150.
Response (Nov 2010) was; "Tim Harrop has just purchased one of these vehicles and this will be utilized in the development process.
There will be something available next year – which part of next year I am unsure of – I will endeavour to keep you informed as it comes along.
    Regards,
Matthew Porter | Customer Service Consultant"
Still waiting to find out if they are doing front, rear or both.
Anyone else interested to try and push them on the development ?

Folks old thread. I have read a heap of the threads on lockers. This is not about what locker is better.
Just questions about E-lockers as no thread seems to have answers from anyone with them fitted.

      1. Are you happy with it?
      2. Is there any known problems?
      3. Would you buy one again?

        I don't have any lockers.
Everyone I've ever spoken to, that has an eaton elocker says they are very happy no probs
It also seems just about everyone has problems of one sort or another with Arb air lockers.

So to answer for them, 1yes. 2. Don't know. 3. Absolutely.

If my diff blow up I will put electric locker in whichever needs work, I think anyway :-)

            Okay quick update.
Brother brought E-locker off opposite lock Albury.
Ordered new bearings as sudjested by Harrop with the part number supplied by Harrop.
Tried fitting it up on the weekend to find that the instructions do not match the type of diff centre in the 150 rear. Pete went to Opposite lock today and found out that they have the wrong instruction, the bearing numbers were wrong and they have been pressed on already. So now waiting on Harrop to sort it all out. Oh you also need shims for the rear diff as well.
Also if you want to install one in the front you need to get some parts machined so the locker will fit.

Will update more when we have more

Okay, To be honest it has not had that much use. But it has worked every time I have turned it on. No hassles with it at all. It did get a good working over the weekend getting myself bogged in the sand at the 4WD expo. At this stage I have not heard of any complaints or associated problems with the E-lockers.
I am thinking of getting the front one put in.
                  Yes I would recommend them.
