Hotwiring the TV

Hi All,
Has anyone attempted to hotwire the factory tv on the Prado Kakadu?
If you not sure what i mean, when your vehicle reach a certain km/hr or when the hand brake is release, the tv screen is automatically shut off.
If someone has, DIY?

Do you mean the GPS screen or am I missing days of our lives in my 120 grande?

It would be a DIY, first step is to locate the signal from the handbrake to the radio and bridge it out. Second step is to locate the signal for speed (would be an on/off as the radio won't calculate based on speed) may even be the same wire.

source a wiring diagram for the radio and it should be fairly clear.

keep in mind that such a mod is not entirely legal...

Yes, factory tv also the same as the gps screen.

Jansen, that's what i was afraid of. Pulling it all apart, rewiring it and only to find it not working or worst stuff up the whole thing altogather!
that's mainly the reason for doing this. For the front passenger to watch a movie or use the gps while on the road. But than again the gps is half inactive whilst driving! Why don't they just put a chip in with easy access and a label that states "remove at your own risk".

What response does Toyota give when you ask them about changing it so the passenger can use it while the car is moving?

They probably tell you that they legally can't do it.
