  • What accessory switches have you used?

What switches have you used in the 150? Did they fit up easy or need lots of mods to the existing blank plates. At the moment I'm looking at the narva blue backlit with various symbols. http://www.narva.com.au/products/browse/4wd

Can get them in on/off, on/off/on & momentary versions. In my last truck I had different switches all over due to the time line of installing them. This time I'm goin to buy a heap of switches, and have them ready for when I need them. Would love photos of your layouts, as I'm sure some of you have had very good ideas...

Me too....You can "scratch" the black coating off (to expose more white) and put other symbol decals on them too.

        Also look at http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...ocker-switches

As keencdk has posted you can get labels from Mudstuff

        http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/carling-switch-legends.html

And after exposing a bit more of the transparent switch you can fix on a label to suit. I ordered a label set earlier this week. Looking to change the fog light logo for driving lights and with two switches from Newpro adding better swtiches for front and rear eLockers. The only space I have that is sensible is near the accessory port so I am thinking of another switch up under the dash which will be an interlock. The obvious place would have been the 'all terrain' blank near the centre diff lock and low range switches but someone fitted a volt / volt meter there instead.

So from what I've read on older threads...

The newpro-tech are slightly better quality.

Some people had problems fitting them side by side.. can anyone provide an update on this. I want to fit three switches side by side on the panel below the start button.

Had a look at the prado at penrith arb today, they have got the arb "garling" style switches to fit in the panel below the start button but have had to cut some of the panel away & they don't fit perfectly flat.

Im still not 100% sure which way im goin to go.

I have two of the new pro switches side by side under the start button with no dramas, not sure if there's a photo in my rig build, but I'll grab a shot over the weekend. I use one for my compressor and one for my driving lights, they fit like a glove and look factory! I haven't worried about the symbols at this stage, I know what they're for. Considering another two of them for my next little lighting project on the 150..
                150 with stuff bolted on!

Have just ordered the clear on black decals from mud stuff, figure they will provide a neat finish after I scratch off some of the existing symbol to let more light through. Cost about $24 including postage bit exy but they are the only clear symbols cut out of black background I could find.

I suspect ABR and TJM and Newpro get all the switches from the same place. I can't tell the difference. The TJM switch (came with the bullbar) is black rather than grey but then so are the Newpro switches and I guess Dereks. Remember you are only switching signal to a relay so no heavy current flows. I like the Carling switches but they are too hard to fit neatly in a 120 let alone a 150. Some have done it and pulled it off but I have seen some shockers too.

For anyone interested in ordering the switch labels from MUD-UK mine arrived this morning and here is the sheet of labels that you can choose from

I need another couple of switches now...

Oh and by the way I am going to use the 12V II, the front and rear diff lock, driving lights and the isolate labels. If anyone wants others flick me a pm, if not needed I will pass it on. First in best thingy though.

I wont start a new thread, but has anyone installed 2 x Carling switches in the blank spot next to the 4WD switch? Im away from my car and I cant check it out for myself if they will fit?

                        Cheers

The Carling switches are quite big and you have to edit the opening. It has been done though as I seem to remember someone's build with them. The switches overhung a lot though. That is what prompted me to stick with the newpro switches.

In a 120, those of us with 150s have smaller switch cut outs to work with.

Hey MLC is it too dark to work on the house?
