  • Best halogen lights to fit with aftermarket HID

I'm looking to upgrade a set of halogen lights with an aftermarket HID kit. I was leaning towards 2 spread lenses with the general feedback being that the IPF 900XS or Hella Rallye 4000 (in either the original or compact design) were the better choices.

Can anyone weigh in with suggestions or opinions?

Lightforce XGT's with the aftermarket lightforce HID kit... Can get XGT's for $300 a set and a genuine lightforce external fitment 70W HID kit is about $450... They're incredibly bright.

x2 on the LF XGT's. I use a pair of combo filters on mine for better spread lighting and upgraded the globes to 50W HID from NewProTech. I'm very happy with the result.

        Thanks guys.

I've got XGTs with a fan cooled, genuine 100W HID external ballasts on my play truck and while they are super bright, I still find the light throws in too narrow of a beam irrespective of the filters that you put on. It's personal opinion but I also think they look a bit big mounted on the front of an ARB bar on a 150. That's why I was looking at some of the options that were closer to 200-225mm in diameter.
