  • Daytime running lights DRLs

    Morning,

Has anyone tried these DRLs in an older 150?

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/281251424143

I currently drive with my low beam on all the time and I would like dedicated DRLs to

    Be seen (most important)
    Reduce fuel consumption
Prevent deterioration of low beam bulbs
Prevent deterioration of low beam reflectors and lenses
Make the radio, aircon and info display visible in daylight.

Not interested at all in the bling factor.

Any opinions or alternatives greatly appreciated.

    S.

Yes, I did search and failed to find a thread on these lights or similar.

I've been looking at options for a while and nothing really fits and is ADR compliant. Earlier this week I changed the Britax spotlights on my T3 bar for an LED lightbar and this has meant the track lights I fitted in the fog light spaces are no longer necessary. I will fit some Narva DRLs in that space now and see how it goes. There are a couple of discussions on this and also one or two members who have fitted aftermarket DRLs.

Thanks but all the discussions I could find were also for DRLs in bull bars.

These are replacement shrouds for the standard bumper fog light. It keeps the same fog lights but adds the DRL around it.

      Cheers

Less load on the alternator but I don't think one would notice it.

I fitted my 90mm found NARVA DRLs into the fog light holes on Monday, lousy pic but they fit fairly easily in the T3 and presumably a T13 as well. Fully ADR compliant supply and install.

Does anyone know of a part that can be fitted to a TJM t13 bar to replace the standard indicator/park light with LED?

I drive all the time with headlights on as I am in and out of underground car parks and I'm lazy... Is there any difference between a DRL and a Park light or are they essentially the same thing with a different name?

If you want to run DRLs "down there" you might run foul of the appropriate ADRs but measure the hole and then google. There are a few companies that sell DRLs. If you don't need your fogs you can do as I did.
