I'm looking at buying this. Has anybody used or owned these if so how are they?

From my previous experience, always buy handheld walkie talkies that take AAs instead of AAAs. They will last much longer from each charge/fresh set of batteries.
Oricom are cheap for a reason. I have some of their handhelds from when I didn't know better and also a 5W in-car unit which seems to interfere a lot at particular spots.

I now use and recommend a GME TX670 2W 80ch handheld. Great range for a small package. Internet reviews will show that the volume is soft in crowded areas but that I believe is for the older 40ch unit as I recently bought some off ebay and the volume is very soft compared to my 80ch unit.
