This seems to be the norm with light bar wiring harnesses.

How are people hooking these harnesses to the high beam circuit?

I wonder if my current wiring harness can be modified or if I have to purchase a new one??

Use a relay. Run a fused cable from the battery +VE terminal to terminal 30 on the relay. Connect terminal 87 to the +ve feed to the lightbar. Earth the lightbar to a convenient chassis bolt that has a good connection to earth. Run terminal 86 to earth, again anywhere convenient. Run a cable from the high beam or your existing trigger for the spotties to a switch inside the cabin, then run this back to the relay and connect to terminal 85. Install a 15A fuse in the fuse block and all done. Assuming your existing spotties are run correctly to a switch inside you can patch off the high beam trigger and run that to terminal 85 without taking another cable inside.

Cheers!!! Where would I be without friendly strangers??? I'll check it out tomorrow. As it stands, there is a relay which connects to both terminals of the battery (with a fuse on the positive?), a cheap nasty switch also runs to the relay. Finally, the light bar had a positive and negative connection to the relay.

I suspect we have a similar harness Spilsy.

The harness I have has the fused cable from the battery +VE terminal to terminal 85 on the relay.
Terminal 30 to the +ve feed to the lightbar.
Earth the lightbar to a convenient chassis bolt that has a good connection to earth. Run terminal 86 to earth.
The switch is connected to Earth 86, blue wire 87 , white wire (power to 85).

So how can it be connected to the high beam wire?

Best post I'd read in years. Commenting also so I can come back to this as it basically explains a relay for any connected device.

So sit rep of the current harness:
Terminal 87 has the positive wire for the light bar.
Terminal 86 has the negative from the light bar, the negative from the battery or earth and a black wire to the switch.
Terminal 30 has a fused positive from the battery and a white wire to the switch.
Terminal 85 has a blue wire to the switch.

I think this can be rescued??? Blue wire to the high beam?

86 is one side of the relay solenoid and is usually earthed, actually it doesn't matter if it is 85 or 86. I would earth the lightbar separately to make sure the current flow is ok for the cables concerned. The blue wire goes to high beam with a switch between high beam and terminal 85 on the relay. Fused power to 30 and that's it. Think of a relay as an electrically activated switch. Power on 85 switches it on which connects 30 to 87. If you have terminal 87A that is normally closed so 30 is connected to 87A until power is applied to 85.

Went to a 4wd meet just before Xmas and they had some tech/legal chat about up coming laws on light bars. Most other states have changed regulations I think it was two that havnt NSW being one of them. Rough New laws (main bits I remember) apparently will be no light bars above bull bars including roof mounted light bars. Must be no higher then factory headlights, must come on with high beam only, must not protrude out past the bullbar. New rules for winches too. I have tucked mine in under top loop of bar, I showed him mine. Said currently illegal but with new laws it will pass requirements.... Cheers Steve

Nothing there about where your aloud to mount them except they must not be in the way of the drivers view, I suppose this is where there referring to mounting it to the top bar of the bullbar as this would be visible from the drivers seat ?? Sounds like NSW laws will again be different just to confuse us.... Cheers Steve

Good post MJ, Does this take into account that the high beam on the later models (?07 on) are negatively switched?
