Rear Dual Battery Cable Length

One thing to keep in mind if running the cable in exposed locations and as I
have no idea as to how you have run yours this is a generality, on a
recent trip spinifex did a marvelous job of removing the paint from the tank
protectors etc and polishing the under sides of the Prado.

Stones are another issue, it is amazing what the can manage to hit, I have
ended up with them on the top of the catalytic converter heat shield!

And don't forget rodents, the seem to fancy cable insulation.

If running under the car I would only run them through the chassis myself
and even then I would put the cable in some kind of sheaf to protect it from
sharp burs etc. In my opinion much better to run through the car with the OEM
wiring, yes is harder but the cabling is protected.

I used some 16mm split conduit from the engine bay all the way along to the rear of the car, in an attempt to protect the cable. It is tied up with the OEM wiring looms and pipework that also take this route. (hence my decision to go along the transmission tunnel)

About 200 in total. Theres about an inch between the underside of the drawers and the metal of the cab. This is were the keyless entry thingy lives. I packed out the gap with a few off cuts.
