Aircon controls frozen!!

I just recently bought a 2012 GXL Prado and all the aircon controls were working fine when purchased. Now I can't change the aircon temperature settings and can't control the rear from the front or via the buttons on the rear consol. Currently the rear fan is going flat out and is set at 19c. Got a feeling my 5 year old son may have done something.
Is this common and what is the best way to resolve the issue? Will I need to go and see an auto electrician?

This happen to brothers 150 when in cape York a few years ago. Try taking the battery off for 20 minutes and reconnecting. Might reset everything.

Disconnecting the battery and reconnecting after 20 minutes and it didn't solve the problem. Does anyone have another fix or seen this issue before?

Other than check all fuses and look for jammed switches, talk to the dealer.

In case anyone every has the same issue, the second temperature control button on the console (the one that controls the passenger seat and rear temperature) was jammed. The auto electrician had pull the dash apart to get to the climate control unit before he worked out the issue. He had to fabricate a small spacer that had broken, is working fine now. Just wanted to let other know that it can happen.

The auto electrician had pull the dash apart to get to the climate control unit before he worked out the issue. He had to fabricate a small spacer that had broken, is working fine now. Just wanted to let other know that it can happen.

Same thing happened to us in our 2012 shortly after purchase. They ended replacing the head unit but basically the same thing with the button jammed.
