2016 150 Series Prado Headlight Switch and DRLs

Hi all

I am having the following issue and the dealer I have been to says it’s normal.

When the engine is off the headlight switch works normally, however when the engine is running the headlights and tail light come on (as DRLs) but the dash also comes on dimming the head unit making it difficult to see. Further to this, when the engine is running you cannot switch to parking lights.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Its either set up in that model to have lights on as DRL, OR.. it may have been an ex mine or fleet vehicle and likely has a Key On Lights on module installed under the dash.

Piggy thanks for your input. It has a beacon switch on the dash but no beacon so ex mine might make sense. I’ll have another look under the dash tomorrow.

My Jan-2017 built MY2016 150GX also has the driving lights (head and tail) on when the engine is running. The function is controlled by an option that can be switched using a TechStream.
