2009 Kakadu Vs 2010 head unit

Apologies for yet another head unit thread. In my defence I did search the forum first.
I have a late 2009 Kakadu. It's the same shape as the 2010 But has the SatNav DVD player under the passenger seat as opposed to in the dash.
Anyway, my SatNav DVD player has kicked the bucket so I now have no SatNav and no Stereo.
Can't find a wreckers that has the 'under-seat DVD' so I'm wondering whether I can just replace the entire head unit with a 2010 head unit? Does anyone know?

You probably can as the electrical drawings show changes after Jan 11, but why would you? Surely it would be better and cheaper to fit an aftermarket unit with which you can at least update the maps?
