could anyone tell me which wires are for the reverse camera connected to the prado 2010 VX display unit that I could use as a video signal to a bigger lcd screen as the one on the VX is tiny. all i can see is a 14 pin connector going into the display unit located below the vents. I am use to seeing coax but there is no coax in sight.

I plan to pull my display out of my GXL and get an aftermarket SatNav. I was hoping to do the same and plug the reversing camera cable (RCA I would have thought) into a Sat Nav. I would think you would need a cable from the reversing lights also to activate the screen into that mode. If you work it out let me know, otherwise I plan to have a go and will let you know.

I also thought I would lose the trip computer info, but I only just found that the same info is available on the dash as well!

This is EXACTLY what I want to know.

Have a nice Kenwood DVD with screen and am tossing up between getting a GXL or VX.

If the camera can be rewired (hopefully a RCA plug) then will plug directly into the Kenwood.

Please, someone answer this!!!

got it working - camera cables (4 wires) are all in a row purple(shield), red, black and white. red and purple are the one for video. and yes you would have to use the reversing wire too so that the reverse camera only comes on when reverse gear is selected.

i recently purchesed the fedom unit being copy of the kakadu unit for my gxl. the unit comes with 1 reversing camera wire which wire from the stock loom is needed to be used

I'm obviously missing something here. I have installed the head unit; found the power for the reverse signal; used the purple & red wires for the video in signal; and nothing. The HU swaps over to the rear camera input, but the screen remains blank. What am I missing? There must be a trick to this I've overlooked.

Your help is appreciated....anyone? I'm looking for some detailed secription of the connections required to make the rear camera work through a RCA plug.

Have you supplied the necessary 5V to power the camera? The Purple/Red wires carry the signal, the reverse trigger will change your head unit to the camera input, but you still need to power the White and Black wires with 5V power and ground (can't remember which one was which so test first) to get the camera to work.

Reverse Camera on GX 150

I am really sorry if I am asking the same question again, couldn't find answer any where. Planning to replace my existing stock stereo with a touch screen stereo and also add a reverse camera to it. Does the GX 150 already come with wiring from rear spare wheel to the front or should I be running a new av wires to front. If anyone as already done it, can I please get some pointers on how to do it or can some one point me to the right place where I can find an answer, and any tips on what touch screen stereo should I be buying so that 'LOOKS' more OEM

Randhir have a look at Brains build in the my rig build up section, great detail and information. Also in the 150 area electrical section there is at least one thread on this. Search google pradopoint+head unit.
