  • there are many times the number of Common Rail Chips in the world as there are Injector Chips and if people were having issues there would be an outcry and warning and failure EVERYWHERE.

    Please remember guys, we also do injector chips and therefore can be unbiased here. Diesel Smart cannot as he only sells injector style chips.

    Just take a look at his website how he tries to scare people that CHIPS are bad and MODULES are good. They are the exact same animal. A chip and module is just what some choose to call them. See our website where we use the word "module"

      oh my.

      rail pressure chips cause injector rattle, 90% of people who have products fitted that alter rail pressures will tell you the car is much nosier then standard. where as our customers compliment us on how much quieter the engine is, especially under load.

      care to explain how causing injectors to rattle is not detrimental to their engines? I would really like to see this.

      Ps. Don't send a video of a piezo electric injector, because you know as well as I do, injectors in a prado are electronic solenoid injectors.

      also while you're at it, could you please also show me where I can purchase a rail pressure chip from TRD?

        I also sell rail pressure chips. For cars that have piezo electric injectors. But again as we alter timing, we are able to guarantee no diesel rattle.

        • where do you get your info from? Most customer do not say their engines are noisier. At least not ours.

            • Passion for specific subjects can sometime result in these types of posts or conversions, I know myself and my work M8's have plenty like this....(except we poke faces as well).

              At the moment it's Fibre Channel V's Fibre Channel over ethernet.

                • I have to admit I am curious as to the theories behind the debate on the reason for loudness as it doesn't make a lot of sense (granted I am not a mechanic). With petrol engines that don't stop after one turned the key we used to call it 'dieseling' referring to the fact that pressure ignition continued after the key was off? Why do the pressures matter? Is the theory that something is rattling? I would suspect that makes as much sense as grandma saying don't crack your knuckles cause the sound is bone on bone--there its bubbles popping out of suspensnion due to the stretching of the joint (lowers pressure); here I would suspect louder ignition--so what's the danger, aren't diesel engines built more stout for the pressure differences in the first place? Also, if this is the cause, why does it get softer when I accelerate? I still like the extra power in the morning when all the morons are on the road for the early commute!

                  • That's the nub. If it were higher pressures being the issue, the more throttle you input the more pressure the rail gets the more it would rattle. If pressures were the issue the rattle would get worse ... not better.

                    Also, it doesn't explain why Toyota injectors are noisy from factory and why Toyota are changing them out and the noise abates with that change.

                    Some Toyota injectors seem to have an inherent fault and Toyota have admitted such. Note that we don't see this around the board on all other vehicles either.

                    For the record: We have NEVER had an injector failure, never had a customer ring to tell us one has failed. Never had any issues with anything associated with noisy injectors.

                    Also for the record, I think the product DM is marketing is pretty good. A bit over kill for the great majority as some functions are not used (ie crank angle, MAF adjustment) and not always plug and plug and a pricey ... but all in all, a good unit.

                    They beat us to market with crank angle and MAF, but we will come out with Rail and Injector Style Chip with touch screen and EGT Control soon. Yep, that too wont be a low cost item either but does have Rail and Injector adjusted, in cabin touch screen, and EGT as standard. Not for the faint hearted.

                      Thats not tru there, I toldyou about the injector trouble I had the day after i installed one of your chipit moduels to my lc200 and you didnt want to know about it . After three mths of me annoying you ,you said to send the unit back as i had been sold the old style and you would replace it with the new one ....two yrs later I still have not recieved your new one ????? . And all you have said is that you never recieved my old one >>

                      I lost my Toyota warranty and ended up having to sell the vehicle at a loss after i repaired it .
                      Not saying it was your product , just saying you guys seem to be having more issues than any other chip style out there, according to the forums around the net.
                      My recommendation ....buy a DP chip or Steinbauer....
