As has been said earlier, the display reading is pretty inaccurate. You have to measure fuel used at the pump and kms travelled to be accurate.
After 50000 I'm averaging 11-12 around town and 13-14 when fully loaded and towing. I bought the diesel for towing and pretty happy with the result.Steve

Ok first refill after brand new.
Filled up 122.79L after travelling 804km. Which works out as 15.27L/100Km. Very very very average for a brand new diesel hopefully you are 100% correct and it will get better as car loosens up? Has anyone else had this happen at the start?
Big ouch when we are paying $1.70 per L up here in Darwin for Diesel.Last edited by Ivano; 17-09-2013, 07:54 PM.

New GX D4D, display currently reading 9.3 after 1500ish kms. Has been slowly decreasing as i'm learning to drive it better. This is city and suburbs driving as well as plenty of hill as I live out in the yarra valley. I'm sure numbers will go up once bullbar and other bits go on, but I'm wrapped with that sort of economy so far!

I picked up an Altitude D4D in late July. It's absolutely stock at the moment.
August figures were 2072km at 11.5 L/100km and September figures were 2293km @ 10.68 L/100km. These are calculated based upon zeroing the trip every time I fill up and taking the litres filled off the receipt from the gas station, not off the trip computer. I admit I have only ever managed to get about 120L into the tank when filling up - probably due to foaming. My journeys at the moment have entirely been in Sydney, including a regular commute from the Hills District to Frenchs Forest via the M2 (much improved drive since the upgrade opened). Currently have just over 5,000km on the clock, so whilst I'm reasonably happy with the figures so far, I suspect that the figures might improve over time and with some out of town distance added.Jon
2013 Prado Altitude, currently ex-showroom.

Hi Guys,
Today I just did freeway drive around 60Km from Blacktown to campbelltown (m7 & m5) it started showing 15.8 in the beginning and 13.2 at the end of the journey. I am very happy to see that 13.2.. I hope this is good..no weight.. only me.. 80% drive was on cruise..
when I put cruise control I felt some vibration on the steering wheel and may be the whole car..not sure..Is that normal to Prado? But if you put accelerator to 110 without cruise no vibrations.. Is this something I should worry about?
When I put cruise in my Corolla earlier it was smooth always.
Thanks..

They recently did wheel alignment in Bob Jane when they fitted two new wheels in front.
Anyway I will take to my tyre service friend and check.
