Model: 2021 (Jun build)
Year: VX Turbo Diesel
Colour: Crystal Pearl
Accessories: Dual Battery, Tow Bar, Roof Racks, Deluxe Bull Bar, light force LED driving lights, Winch, Snorkel, Redarc brake controller.
5000km on the clock, 1000km service completed and 3000km into a 3800km trip on the main roads, was doing 110kmp/h, when the main warning light came on and the cruise control dropped out with a warning tone & "cruise not available" message appeared. Also the attached pictures "pre collision system malfunction", "DFP full", "Check engine" warnings. Fortunately, we were pulling into our destination for the night when the fault appeared. Called the nearby (600kms away) Toyota dealers and RACQ road side assist. The local AANT guy turned up and was brilliant (third one he was seen that month with a similar fault, with one going out on the bed of a truck). Tried to reset the fault by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes, no change. Took it for a test drive (get above 40kmp/h and we don't go out on the bed of a truck), so limp mode in play. The local Toyota dealers tried to fob it off to each other (the book says the closest dealer), the service guy said it was up to me whether I wanted to continue driving it, where I said, "So as a Toyota representative, you are giving me the OK to drive it?", where he said "probably not". So it was looking like we were going out on the bed of a truck, and I should get RACQ road side assist to tow it for us for as far as they would do for free
anyway that was before the local AANT guy turned up in the 40C heat.
Finally got to my destination (Xmass and new year period threw another delay into the mix) and lobbed up to the local Toyota dealer as soon as they opened up after the X mass break. Another long battle there, but they diagnosed the issue with the DFP and injectors needing replacement. Next issue is no stock locally and possible 7 day turn around, so more to come (thanks for all the previous threads on what to do)
