Map Version 17 is now available
It will cost you $AUD303.50
If you are buying a new Kakadu or VX (with GPS Option) then insist that the dealer gives you Version 17 before you accept the vehicle. No doubt it will be loaded with a Version 16 disc.
I enquired with Whereis if I would lose settings when I loaded the new DVD and they did not know the answer. I have just installed the new DVD and all of my addresses, previous destinations, HOME location, etcetera were retained.
The disc ejects from the rear of the unit under the front passenger seat. Move the seat forward.
For those of you who are wondering if this disc can be backed-up. It cannot. Windows does not recognise it, neither does any other image copying software. Whereis warn you not to load it into a personal computer. No problem, they guarantee a replacement disc if the DVD that they send is faulty in any way.
I haven't really tried it out yet but I hope that it has the new Perth to Bunbury Freeway instead of showing me as driving through farm fields.
