I know how to save money , dont get a toyota towbar....save you around about 400bucks straight away, and if your buying it at the same time add to that 900 dollars about 30% LCT so now your 900 tow bar is costing 1170 in round numbers

Anyway no worries.

Having had Hayman Reese before I wouldn't have one again with the wiring fitment. Also looking for the added protection the Toyota bar offers with 4wding.

The only thing I am buying is the Prado. Everyone knows that you don't by accessories at the time of purchase due to LCT.

I just put an order through with "the new car factory" aswell. Owen was really helpful and efficient. He got me a great price! If only all car salesmen were straight to the point like him. I can't disclose the price but i can recommend that you call him and he will definatly look after you.

I will be interested in a group buy for the towbar aswell if your organising it BJ. And thanks for the new car factory tip!.

How much did he save you over the quote that you had achieved for yourself excluding extras?

I have heard that some people are down at 68 and below for the turbo diesel.

Also the cheapest after market towbar I can find is $720.

I may as well fit toyota for the price difference.

Just had a look at an Altitude we came across today in a dealers yard in Melbourne (we are down for the weekend) saw a Graphite one that we have ordered, have to say it looks pretty awesome. There is an Altitude badge where the GXL/VX badge goes on the rear door other then that not to many other features make it stand out from the usual models.

Steering wheel has full VX/Ka controls, sat nav looked much more at home then the LCD display on the GXL. Moonroof cover seemed a little light as if it is not insulated but was very light to slide back and forth with electronic controls fitted to the interior light overhead console.

Leather looked sweet with a pitted look on the edging and speakers mounted on the top of the dash, front windscreen pillar and rear pass door handles (Where the window toggle button is).

The thing I noticed most was the darker looking interior due to the all black seats, it presented a nice ambient feel..They have retained the USB input on the centre console so those that were having issues with Bluetooth can still jack in with a cord.

Interesting thing is after dealer costs and on roads etcs, this dealer quoted us $77+ and then mentioned he would do a deal for $75k drive away..Still allot more then we paid.

So after being told we may get ours this Monday I am now confident we will driving around Brisbane Monday evening after sitting in an Altitude this evening (at Berwick Toyota) it would appear they have arrived! ! ! ! !

Oh and I sorted out the dash display, looks like the one as normally installed, dealer said they just changed the discription of it for some reason so I am happy with that I was told it was just now and LED display in black font and white background so whooo hoo

I think most dealers should do it for $900 fitted after the sale so you can avoid the LCT. Carosel trailers will do the HR one for $700 fitted.

I also had a look at the altitude in real life today. It pretty much looks very similar to a kakadu inside, even the leather is the same.

Just some food to digest on the towbar topic, purchase the towbar on the car at point of sale it then falls into the 3 year - 100,000k warranty. So paying a little more to have it on delivery may be a factor in paying that little bit more to get another 2 years coverage.

Have to agree, with the leather and sat nav it does have a Kak feel about it with the plastic wood removed.

Should be in ours (Graphite A/T Diesel) Monday...... See how it falls...

Hi guys, have been looking for ages at new Prados and had this on e mentioned to me by a dealer. Have signed up for a turbo diesel in crystal pearl, on road with Toyota tow bar, roof racks, mats, a full tank of juice and a $200 Myer gift voucher!! for $68495 - which I thought wasn't a bad deal - he showed me and it is actually just over $1000 under their cost but they were desperate for the sale. Delivery in about 4 weeks....
