    That would equate to wat I was told by a dealer near Melbourne Airport.
    I was told about $78k RRP & might be able to get one for $71K.

    This is way way way over what I can get a GXL for.
    In fact it isonly marginally cheaper than a VX.

    I have another dealer that my employer has a relationship with that says he may be able to do one for $7K over the price he quoted me for a GXL.
    He can not confirm this until next week (13th).

    If this is the case I will buy one - if not it will be a GXL with leather & sunroof from Prestige Sunroofs.

    Regards

    Disco 4.
    Cheers

      Shame it doesn't come with KDSS, it would be a no brainer at this price.

        At the end of the day you will get nothing for nothing!
        Toyota is not in the habit of giving anything away.
        If you want a particular option I think you just have to get used to paying for it.

          Satnav = $3200
          Sunroof = $2800
          Leather = $3000 +

          If you are expecting a couple of grand on top of the GXL price the reality is these options are not small upgrades. Most dealers we have spoken to are putting the additional cost at around 7K on recommended. You either look at it as your getting a cheaper VX or your getting a very nicely options GXL. You should really not be looking at it like your getting a cheap GXL with extras it does not simply work that way folks.

          Unless one of the biggest car manufactures marketing executive has had sign off to give away all the stuff that is being bundled in to the Altitude before resigning to go work for a rival car company, it all comes down to preference. GXL, Altitude or VX.

          So far there has been a gap of 5-7K difference in what people are claiming they are driving away for. Based on the lowest price (from memory 59Kish) that would put your Altitude at around 65K and some loose change. For those that do not have an ABN or claim 2 cars in a business is a fleet are probably walking away around 63-64K drive away from the posts. I think it would be reasonable to assume a 5K increase for the Altitude which would put the price for Mr Average at aroind 69-70K drive away.
          Toyota.com.au has a TD AT VX for $84,582.89** drive away. (I am sure some of you could do much better then that as you are all gun hagglers) so say you get it for $80K. Your still ahead by 10K so why would you not look seriously at the Altitude.

          Resale would be a good factor (especially for you leasers) oh and do not forget, there is not an endless supply of the Altitude, it will be a limited run of some amount of builds. So future proofing they will be rare to and hard to get and expensive if with low miles and good condition *never been on the beach

          That's my take on it, if you do not want to spend the money for the perks, get a GX with the options or settle for the GXL.

          Once the 13th rolls over there will be a rush of people with pricing and phantom figures (lets be honest no one wants to be the one who paid to much for their purchase) so lets all pray to the "oh what a feeling" god and cross our wallets hearts and hope the wife does not see the extra amount we added to the order to sit on leather seats and allow her to navigate our rig around your local westfield 4wd park.

            Ps isn't the "leather" interior "accented" which could be just the upper sides or even just the piping....

              The way the dealer explained it to us was, if you look at the seat it looks like its all leather but because some aspects (like the backing) are not leather they can not say they are all leather trim. Visually it would appear the whole bucket of the seat is of a leather styled finish (not a mixture of leather or hide and material).

              have a look at a VX as this would be easier to put it into perspective. The final finished product is all black.

              P.s not a car salesman, but almost due to the amount of time I have spent terrorising my dealer and educating them on customer service delivery.

              p.p.s - my partner gave me an uppercut for the Westfield comment, saying she is just as home at Landcruiser as she is at Westfield.

              Something about girl power! (just dont scratch the interior with your shopping bags sweetie is all I ask)

                There are only 4000 being made as per the conversation with my dealer, who i'd like to think that i can trust as i've purchased two cars through him and my now third car, first 4WD, a Prado Altitude.

                Got one reserved for me from the 20 or so they have in their stock sheet, ready to be delivered end of February or early march, i've got a maximum price locked in which they were negligent to give me as they don't know what the actual wholesale prices are, they only know the RRP and they are assuming if it is anything like the 200 series altitude there is less room for discount then say the GXL model.

                The biggest killer with the Altitude is the increased value over the GXL giving you more LCT. I don't mind the increased price, it gives me options i want without having to go to the VX which gives me other options i dont really need, KDSS would be great and its a shame that is it not included in the Altitude, but oh well.

                The altitude will have good resale value as it is limited edition and that nice shiny altitude badge will keep me grinning

                    I have been given a price of around $69,000 for TD.

                    I can get a VX for around $72,000 so I am a little torn on which way to go.

                          • Does the Altitude Prado have the centre console fridge, like the Altitude Landcruiser? If it does, then it's a great buy.

                              You must be the only person in aus to get a "locked in" price under $70k... So which dealer did you get it from? Pm me if you don't want to post it here.

                              Thanks
