Visited the local dealer who has now confirmed (via stock sheet) that there is an Jan 15th build run (could slip of course) so have amended the order from GXL to Altitude with delivery date tentatively advised as Late March/April.
Only thing not confirmed is price as wholesale prices have not yet been released to the dealers apparently. So a little more to wait, but happy too.
have confirmed the above inclusions. Leather seat is pretty much the same look as in the VX.

        Guys,

I saw my fleet supplier (Eastern States) on Monday to confirm my allocated Altitude (reserve placed in Dec) and all that was able to be confirmed was they had 2 allocated for a Jan build for the dealership. Now both sold. Delivery date - Unknown. Price - Unknown. All that was in concrete was the additions on top of the GXL.

I was quoted $3,800 just to add sat nav to a GXL, so providing that the price does not blow out it may be some bang for the bucks.

I will have to wait and see

Spoke with someone from Sci-Fleet this evening, said they know pricing ($7K) on a GXL and they expect delivery of the first batch of their order to arrive late Feb early Mar. Said a Diesel, Auto would go for low $70K.

I would imagine you could get them a little cheaper, and I am not referring to leasing or if work is buying them.

At that price u could almost get a better deal on a VX, just a thought.

I would say the majority of people looking at buying a Prado are not able to draw on fleet pricing and if you are leasing then regardless of the price at the end of the lease you hand it back (some options to buy). It is very obvious from reading everyone's experiences when approaching their dealers in their respective areas, there is a large variance in the drive away price.
Some pay more some pay less then the average deal.

For those that are interested there is some intereating price comparisons (Sunroof = Approx $3K, satnav = Approx $2.5, Leather seating = Approx lots) if you add this all up and say beat your dealer down to $5k drive away on a GXL Auto Diesel should be in the $70K still looking better then a VX and you get a shinny Altitude badge and be one of the owners of a release that will hold a little higher resale in comparison for years to come.

so sounds like a winner in all ways.

The way car sales are in the crapper at the moment you'd be surprised. Stealerships will do anything to get your order if they're keen enough.

We run a business with two prado's in our fleet and I managed to get 6k discount on both, listed on the invoice as fleet discount. Even if you work for a national company that has fleet cars u can normally get some sort of fleet discount even if u buying personally.

                        Hutch- 2007 V6 GXL.
                        2012 V6 GXL on order.

                          Hutch- 2007 V6 GXL.
                          2012 V6 GXL on order.
I got fleet discount on my VX order as the company I work for is listed in the Toyota fleet register. Even though the car will be registered in my name the dealer was able to add me into this discount category. Hence why I believe that $75k is about the best you will get on a VX with a few options... (Tow Bar, Tint, Mats etc) About $73.5k without options.
If the Altitude was offered when I ordered I may have considered it as an alternative to the VX, but now I have already been waiting over 3 months I'll stick it out with the VX.

                          Cheers,

                          Jeff

In my previous experience dealers cannot generally offer fleet on limited edition models, correct me if I am wrong and if anyone gets a good deal. Hence why I think altitude with little discount vs a VX with fleet would be close in pricing. Anyhow time will tell when pricing is released.

Very correct i asked my dealer and there was no way he can offer the same discount i got on the GXL on an altitude spec... so GXL it will stay!
