I have a signed a contract for a V6 Petrol Auto GXL Altitude for a flat $65,000 no more to pay. Private purchase in QLD. Production slot second week in Feb and delivery approx. 4 weeks later. I will be converting to dual petrol/LPG for $2k after government rebate. Much more performance than Diesel and much cheaper to run. Been running this set up on existing 2003 Prado GXL.

Hi DBA,

Can you tell us what the RRP is supposed to be on this model, and/or what discount you were given?
Also, did you get any options in that price?

Just because you signed a contract doesn't mean that is the final price when the vehicle is delivered. Read the fine print.

Hi Jeffers, I'm afraid I don't know the RRP or any specified discount. No other options in that price. Towbar to follow. Found new 18 inch VX wheels on ebay for a song (seller got 20 inch for his Kakadu). According to my dealer the side steps has the VX chrome lining also on the Altitude, we shall see.

To D4D yes the fine print does indeed stipulate that. I signed the contract 17 September and that clause has just now been waived turning it into a confirmed price contract.

dba can you please advise as to whom your dealer is as I would like to contact them directly and question why every other dealer I have engaged have all stated wholesale price not available until 13th Feb. I would like to use this to approach my dealer and find out why I have been lied to.

It would seem there are a few dealers out there that seem to have all the facts and figures and others have nothing other then they can start taking orders but not confirm build dates/delivery date/how many of their allocation they will actually get etc.

It is my experience that all dealers receive model information at the same time otherwise there would be some pretty peeved dealer principals out there. Can you imagine the uproar between dealers it would create if this wasn't the case.

I too believe that firm prices are about 2 weeks away. In my situation the dealer had breached a date condition in the contract and I said that unless the price could be confirmed I would consider terminating. The dealer said they were happy to do that as they were 100% confident on the firm price level/structure TBA in 2 weeks.

this seems odd, a 1 year lease??? have i missed some thing, ordering a new 150 gxl?

Leases can run for a period of between 1 and 5 years, it appears this one is coming to the end of 1st year lease

Confirmation of the $5k on top of the GXL pricing and final price will be made available for fleet and private early to mid Feb.

Assuming this doesn't include the LCT?

If so that is pretty good, if not the extra money will be closer to $7k

I have a GXL on order but I am waiting for the final prices prior to commiting to an Altitude.

No unfortunatly, it does not include the LCT.

Had one dealer so far offer me firm pricing on a TD auto and even with limited fleet discount it was over $10k on the GXL

Now weighing up do I go for the GXL??

Anyone manage to put an order down on one of these yet? I had a dealer tell me that he thinks i will sell around the $69000 mark and that they will be ready for march delivery. I almost fell off my seat (about the price not about the car being here). Guess its back to the GXL.
