Dealer today quoted 59500 for white GXL TD Auto no options, april build may del. Didnt even have to haggle so it seems there would be more room to move. Anyone had luck getting down to the 57k mark?Comment

Folk we need to ensure that when we quote a price that it is drive away. Our quote has the GXL at $59+K but then add GST and Luxury tax, Dealer delivery costs, hidden costs etc based on recommendated retail that would make a $12K discount. A dealer with 20 vehicles would loose $120K in sales and for a business thats got to hurt.
I think it would also be of benefit if we are going to quote a fantastic price, the dealer also be revealed as I am sure we would all like to go armed with comparisons when we are talking turkey and wetting the dotted line.
Without throwing sticks if you look online at the new car sales sites, prices are pretty consistent across the states for advertised drive away prices. As our dealer has stated, its about supply and demand and I have heard mine companies paying abserd prices for 2nd hand Prados so it is reasonable to assume, dealers with rare access to stock are not to willing to sell them with to much discount as there is always someone willing to pay top dollar just to get their hands on one and not wait 3-6 months to do so.Comment

Well I have just been in touch with my dealer and the news is my VX TD will arrive at the dealer on the 20/2.
They said it will be about 3 days to add the following;
Tow bar
Tint
Floor mats
Rear mat
Personalized plates (QLD)
Total price $75,000 drive away.

My dealer finally got back to me and while he hasn't given me a delivery date, he gave me the login details to track production. It's currently listed as "in production" but no VIN or engine number has been assigned yet. Anyone have any idea how long it normally takes from build date to delivery?Comment

Got a call from my dealer today, Prado is in and a couple of accesories already installed. bad news there has been a flood o Prados hit Australia and now there is a one monthe wait for the ARB bull bar. She is checking the availability of the TJM bar....not sure if I want to change though.

Looking through this thread, it appears that a lot of people who ordered around November are getting their cars now. We ordered ours (TD GXL auto) in September and our has has finally arrived. If you negotiated a price for a vehicle type and not a particular vin etc than this is likely. There is nothing that you can do about it. I spoke to a dealer up the coast and told him I was at $62.500 for my car. He said he was happy to match it but I would get bumped if the car was sold for a higher price before the vehicle arrived.Originally posted by dennis.s.s View PostComment

I had the sales manager write on my contract the sale amount will be held until delivery. Can be a bit of a trap with such an extended wait time on these vehicles.Comment
