lack of genuine gps for gxl

I wish toyota would make a factory fit gps for the gxl,can anyone tell me if you can put the one from the vx or kakadu model into the gxl,I know it would cost but would prefer to keep the feeling!

Factory gps is such rubbish. Don't bother.

For the $5000 it will cost you you could buy 7 hema/garmin GPS's or 2 or 3 after market inbuilt units using genuine Toyota facia panels.

Hi, I installed an Eclipse AVN762EA plus 2 Zylux rear DVD Headrests, rear camera and an alarm into my 120 GXL. This was installed through Alberts car stereo, and it was cheaper than the Toyota satnat.

It's ironic that both units are manufactured by fujitsu 10, but one doesnt have "Toyota" stamped on it. However I did add a Toyota Emblem to the boot screen.

Quite of few f us have installed the factory looking ones from Asad at Extreme Electronivs, in my opinion they are heaps better than the OE gps at a fraction of the cost $800...

if its anything like the factory one in the 120 series , its a piece of crap , pretty much useless for any thing .

Or go the vms option that looks as good as the kakadu one but does off road mapping. At about $3500 with offroad maps, you still get to experience the "my wallets just been raped feeling"!

Also look at the Clarion website, but needs to be fitted with fascia panel from an upmarket Prado.

I have looked at all those units and many more, I quite like the Extreme model(emailed Extreme with no repsonse) and just wanted to know if you could get factory unit to work in a GXL 150,also I had a vms in my old 120 a it had issues after a couple of months with a voltage surge (loud crack through speakers)on start up
