  • 6 stacker head unit - motion lockout!?

    Hi all,

Has anyone managed to beat the 'motion lockout' on the upgraded 6 stacker CD player head unit? Not the standard one in the GX or GXL, its the upgraded one. I think the model number is PZQ60. Google has been no help unfortunately.

Before the fun police jump up and down about road safety etc etc etc, it is not a gps unit and I am trying to be able to get my offsider to select playlists when in iPod mode and whilst moving. It is really no different than selecting various radio stations until you find one you like.

So how do I beat it?

    Additional info :
The vehicle is a 2010 Prado GX

I don't know about this model in particular but I know that if you want to bypass the DVD playing on multimedia units they are just earthed to the handbrake, making the unit think the vehicle is stationary..
Now what ramifications this may have with your warranty or insurance company is another discussion topic !!!

I think this one is a bit smarter than that, I tried to bypass it this way and it made no difference.. My impression was that it worked on a speed sensor

It works on both I think. I tried to leave the handbrake on a couple of clicks and it worked until the car got up to I dont know, about walking pace.
          Beware the fun police.

On a side note has anyone figured out the time to destination part of the sat nav?
We have 130km/h speed limit and cant select such a high speed I dont think.

There are some mods on USA sites about cutting & capping the cable from the speedo. Anyone tried something similar in the non GPS units?
