This is from a 150 series GXL - pretty sure it's the same in the other models in the 150 range.

Could you use the switch out of a Tundra? Looks to be a three way switch, which I gather is what you're after.

      Hi Dave,

Just finished reading your build, very impressive, some things i'll be looking into. See you have some ARB stuff too. Can't help you with the switch but looks like others already have.
PS instead off a Glock i've got a solid lump of wood like a small baseball bat next to my seat

      Cheers Derek

Would you please be so kind as to check the photo because I can't see it here.

Believe me, I have tried everything I could think of locally. Like mjrandom I too have a very large box of parts including the Tundra switch. Its connector is perfect but all function work exactly opposite of mine. Another issue would be mounting because its plastic is specially molded and angled to fit only their trucks.

You guys are my last hope!

Hi Derek, thanks for the comments. One really need to experience first hand the pure excitement and absolute bottom wetting fear of running into a black bear while walking with my 6 year old daughter. Luckily it seemed more amused than hungry but sometimes speaking harshly and carrying a big stuck is just not enough

Yes, I've seen that dial before. We had the same on previous generations of 4Runner too. The button on the left locks the diff which is why the dial only needs two positions.

However the picture in my first post seems to show a different dial, in a different position and what looks like three positions.

As is true with my truck, I think those with full time 4WD should have the 3 position dial. Or maybe its from a different version of Prado?

I found the picture via Google Images and its tags says 'Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 5-door JP-spec (150) 2009'. I don't thing its from Europe because the steering wheel is on the wrong side.

This is the tundra one I was referring to. Looks like it has 2WD, 4H, 4L

Landcruiser TXL definitely has the 3-way switch. Sold in Europe and Asia - that might be more what you're after:

AK7, Do you know which Tundra that picture is from?

And thanks for the other links from Spain and Thailand, those I have not seen before and are yet another version different from the picture I originally found. I'm starting to think that somebody at Toyota has a sick sense of humor.

Got the Tundra pic from here:
                          http://www.toyotatundraforum.com/ele...bye-amber.html

Google "LandCruiser TXL Dash" and then go to pics - you'll see a whole stack from throughout Europe and Asia (including Middle East) with that 3-way switch. By the looks of it, H4F is simply to "Free" the centre diff lock, while the H4L and L4L options are simply the same as the Aussie Prado's H4 and L4 (except on yours the centre diff lock is automatically engaged). Except that we have a separate button to enable or disable the centre diff lock. Looks like this:

                          http://www.drivearabia.com/myride/me...f21a29c57e.jpg

I noticed that the TXL's don't have the centre diff lock button, which would suggest that those three way dials would indeed be exactly what you're after (H4F, H4L, L4L)...

You are correct about the meaning of H4F, H4L, L4L. Do you mean to say that ALL Aussie have the separate Diff lock button or could maybe a newer version match the sort I'm looking for?

Its the right hand drive that made me suspect Australia

Pretty sure all Aussie 150 series will have the separate centre diff lock button mate. UK also do right hand drive
