  • Drifta camping kitchens & drawers GX 150

I visited Drifta camping kitchens in Gloucester NSW today. I meet up with Mark Beech (production manager of Drifta). He was very nice to deal with over the email and he helped me get the small box I wanted and the end product is great. I had a good look over his GX 150 and it is very well put together. Cooper ST's, ARB Lift kit, ARB bar, IPF lights, ARB rack and of course, some very nice Drifta drawers. I managed to grab a few snaps of the truck and the set up. Drifta have purpose built up this 150 to tailor make drawers that hit the mark, without hitting ya wallet !

A pretty nice truck, a top bloke for an owner. It's great to see Drifta's owner Luke Sutton and his production manager Mark Beech, putting in work to produce such quality Prado gear.

Great bit of gear hey Matt, I have almost the same draws as in Marks 150 however I had mine made to fit on top of the OE seats but also have the false floor in case I want to remove them again one day and put my draws back in full time. Both Mark and Luke are top guys and a great local employer. One very happy customer here.

The picnic table would have to be the best inclusion!

There gear is bloody top notch in my books. Also unlike other setups, the drawers don't weigh a tonne. Mark sent me a good link for us today :

I opted for a Drifta kitchen in my ct, instead of the stainless steel one that was standard.
We are extremely glad that I took this option, when we have it out again I will get a picture if I can remember............Dammed old age.

The light weight which really appeals appears to be achieved by the lack of steel runners. Anyone used these drawers with a fair amount of weight, say tools and recovery gear? Also, does the lack of stops cause any issues in use?

I have a drawer on a fridge slide in my 120 that takes as much weight as you can fit in and still rolls out with ease, however the slide is really heavy and I am trying to set up my 150 somewhat lighter where I can

              Hi all,
I've just installed the Drifta Car back combo, really happy with them, very easy to install and Beechy was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Great customer service! I got the additional swap draw which replaces the kitchen draw when you don't need it, giving you additional storage. Whilst i'm leaving the draws in, you can easily remove them in about 10 to 15 minutes. I've got my draw full of recovery gear, including vehicle jack and i don't have any difficulty sliding the draw in or out.

                Hi hulbyw

I have a custom made Drifta setup in my GXL and have had the drawers fully loaded many times now with no problems. Had them fitted about a year ago and you can still open and close the drawers with one finger fully loaded. They have a stop to prevent you pulling the drawer right out.

Don't have anything for my new prado yet, but I have to say when I do it will be drifta. Cannot recommend Luke & his team highly enough, awesome bloke... Has refused Chinese etc buyouts in the past. If you want to read a good yarn & have a laugh, read his 'driftin' stories from his youth on his website.
