As for the running in I agree with the other guys.
That looks good! looks different to the opposite lock bar that I have seen though. I remember there were a couple of options so that must have been the other one.
    thanks for that

Johnno I've got a colour coded ARB bar on my white GXL . To install the ARB bar they have to cut part of the original plastic bar off and the ARB bar mates up with it . The cut edge is covered up with a black plastic push on moulding .
I believe the TJM bar goes straight up with no cutting so if push came to shove you could refit the original plastic bar when you sell the car .
The TJM bar has their T shaped cut outs for high lift jack mounting points , the ARB has a rectangular opening which I'm told is for the high lift jack but it's not the T shape so I don't know how secure the jack would be .
The inner plastic liner inside the mudguard is bolted to the ARB bar but mine does not fit so well and rattles over bumps , don't know about the TJM .
I'm not real happy with the paint job on my ARB bar as it has surface rust on the inside of the bar , the outside's not too bad but it does have a bit of surface rust appearing along the back edge .
      Cheers Ross

ish... The best fit is to cut the original bumper and not use the TJM "wings". I got the heads up from Hutch and Brains and made sure I had the bumper cut done though TJM Brendale only do bumper cuts these days.

The inner guard is quite secure and the paint on my T3 bar is as good as it gets.

the problem for Perth people is that there is really only one TJM in perth. Well two actually but one is just some tiny 4wd shop selling tjm stuff and the guys themselves have no idea about installing anything, they just send out to other places to get installations done. The other one in oconnor is a proper tjm store...I think. havn't actually been there.

I have an ARB bar on mine with winch. Shame you arent near me as I want the TJM bumper replacement with nudge. I will never use the winch, doubt its ever been used (expolice vehicle), I know how they work but have never used them. No plans on touring with this as its for towing the float. Was never a fan off bullbars but have got used to giving dickheads that cut you off when towing a nice picture in their rear view mirror at the lights. I used to be a in the mounted police so it was even more fun then with the cruiser ute...They'd give you the dead eye and then see the shirt and then try to be anywhere else.

I ran in my new motor by attending the SA GTG! She also had new BFGs. Now, I'm running in my new Tracklander roof rack and new Bilstien shocks by driving to Darwin.

Don't baby it too much. We fit new engines to trucks every day, some of them go for a run In on the dyno some don't, either way all of them drive straight down the road, load 3 trailers on the back of them and head off to work sitting at constant speed and full load all the way. My belief is that you need to give it a bit of load to help bed in the rings.

At the end of the day you will be limited in what you do by the traffic you're driving in.

I did, but then it cost me nothing. If you want to it wouldn't hurt, but really it's up to you

I haven't changed the oil at 1000k on either of my new Diesel Prado's. I doubt it would make any measurable difference to engine life so other than a bit of feel good factor it's probably not needed. If like Andy it costs you nothing or the cost is of no consequence to you then go for it. The fact that you are asking the question Leads me to think that you are questioning whether the cost is worth it or not, for Me it wasn't worth it, but on both occasions I was a long way from home at the 1000k service.

                      Cheers Andrew

A lot of manufacturers won't change the oil until 15,000km from new, never mind 10,000 or even 1,000.

That is true bushbasher, but is that because it is the best thing for the engine, or is it because it's the best thing for the profits? I'm not saying you have to change the oil at 1,000Km, but I'm sure no engine ever failed from having the oil changed slightly more often than manufactures recommendations.

Before anyone jumps down my throat, I have heard the hype over too frequent oil changes, and how the new oil lasts longer, and how a old filter works better than a new one, and, and, and. But what is more cost effective, changing your oil at preset distance (5,000Km for me cause it does frequent short trips), or oil sampling to get the most life out of it??

Nothing re cost just know that there is more metal floating around as engine runs in.

Does toyota run them in at factory at all.

Probally won't bother if most dont do it.

I rang to book my facelift 150 in for its 1000k service, she said they were booked out. So it now has 1600km's on it, and goes in Monday.
She said they don't change the oil at the 1000, only a nip and tuck on some moving parts, but after my 500km check with ARB on the suspension, she I don't need to worry at all.

But I will, just so the book looks good going forward

Drive easy until it warms up, then drive normal...

When I picked my 2012 GX up from the dealers, they suggested I take it for a 1,000 k run and then they'd do it's first service and it didn't bother me to do so
as I had to drive back to tom price from perth after picking it up (Time limited).I only managed 817km's before the service and then a further 1400km's back to tom price.
