It seems that almost every time I open the driver's side door the bloody 'open door' chime goes off.
I cannot have the door open and listen to the radio or CD player.
I cannot understand why the hell an open door chime is actually required.
There is a indicator on the dash and really, if you don't know or can't tell that your car door is open then, in my view, you shouldn't be driving.
Yeh, yeh I know, manufactures make these things for the dumbest of the no brainers.
I can get Toyota to turn it off and have tried, only to find that if it is disabled, given that I live in the country and always drive with my headlights on, they will not automatically turn off and remain on with a potential flat battery result.
If anyone knows what makes this chime, what it looks like and where it is located, I would love to be able to jam a knife into its mouth and shut it up, I find it that annoying.
However I will restrain my self as the ECU would probably have a heart attack.
A large amount of sound deadening material I reckon could be the answer.
I don't want to hear it ............. ever!
If anyone in Prado land knows of a solution and can help to preserve my sanity please do so.
