Prado 150 d4d cooling down noises

Hey all
Need some help I have a 2010 d4d toyota prado just 60000 and just noticed now that the hotter weather is coming , that every time I shut my engine off you can hear a popping sound that's pretty loud for about a sec and then you might hear another one about 30secs later it's sounds like it's coming from around the turbo just wondering is this is normal when cooling down

idle engine for a few minutes before shutting the engine down this will cool the turbo if it is maintaining heat as there is no turbo timers on the D4D to do this for you.

Popping sound? Not the heat shields on the cat converter cooling down?

x2 Agree, most probably the cracking/popping noise that the exhaust shields make when contracting as they cool down. Completely normal for any car with heat shields near exhausts.
