Today I sold my FJ cruiser, all things going well I'll pick up the prado on Saturday, first items on the agenda will be Redarc towpro, Redarc BCDC 1220, optima D34 battery, battery tray, either flat or tradesman rack, then the awning and CKMA12 compressor that I've kept from the FJ. Really hoping that the bracket I made for the compressor in the FJ will fit the prado...

I need to get a build thread started...
Couple of weeks ago, new tyres on FJ Cruiser rims, 265/70R17 Dueler 697, same going to go on our camper trailer on the prado rims. Started running wiring for charging the camper and dual battery, battery tray in. Working on ARB air compressor and 2nd fuel filter using AMTS's great bracket. Just have to decide whether to add an air tank to the system or not bother...
Ordered underbody guards from Tin.
Still to do - Suspension lift, Icom 450 uhf and antenna, fit drawers and cargo barrier, rebuild MSA fridge slide as it doesn't stay open or shut.
Should keep me busy for the next month worth of weekends. Needs to be fitted to head away in July, nothing like a deadline to work to.
Cheers, Nova

Had a custom designed roof rack fitted to my kakadu as no pre-manufactured rack would fit into my garage. It is 140mm high from the roof and has shorter mounts and closer top and bottom rack rails. I have had it powder coated to match the ERB roo bar. Is is a very slick design and build for anyone with a similar problem i.e limited garage height.

Got it home from the dealer on Tuesday night. Spent the afternoon getting rid of annoying rattles, opened up the jack in the rear compartment so it was actually sitting in its cradle properly, got rid of the useless spare wheel cover, had a look at the spoiler but was running out of daylight I think the best thing for that will be to put a bit of adhesive foam tape underneath it so it doesn't have as much play in it? Also crawled underneath and found out exactly what sort of springs as shocks I've scored and tried to sort out the airbag that had dropped but it sounds like it's either got a hole in it or the tube isn't clamped on properly so I'll have to take the wheel off and have a proper look. Also started window shopping for a roof rack. Not sure if I should go for tradesman or a flat rack.

Fitted a Steinbauer unit to my 1GD 2015 150 Series and really pleased with the outcome.
Was a little nervous, the original unit purchased triggered the limp mode requiring a trip to the local dealer for a reset and a lecture. Fortunately the unit was replaced within 24 hours but elected to wait until I received a Scangauge before trying again, just in case.
Not that noticeable first up, "feels" nicer to drive but that may be me convincing myself. Towing is where the improvements were noticed. Previously towing a 2+ tonne boat up a hill (Welshpool Road, Perth Hills) would have the Prado struggling to maintain 70-80kmhr, and if you lost momentum it struggled even at that level with no chance of accelerating. With the Steinbauer fitted, holding the 80kmhr speed limit was no problems at all, and you could easily accelerate if needed. Looking to test the unladen fuel consumption over the next week or so.
Good customer service from Steinbauer and Uniteds to fix an unexpected hiccup initially. Happy customer here.
