    Well, it's a relatively minor issue worth $150.00
    What I have found though last weekend is that the sway bar had a lose bolt caused by a damaged thread in the nut. See picture.
    Before I discovered that lose bolt I had an occasional clunk sounds from there. I asked to check the suspension at the last service 2 months ago but they did not find anything.
    Long story short, to me this is a clear case for the extended warranty, as this should never happen in a vehicles' life. However, Toyota declined, no reason was given to me by the dealership.
    Any comments?

      I've never had a warranty claim refused with my Toyotas..
      Even running a large fleet of them that my workers treated like hell.

      I would re approach the dealer and ask again.

        They can't just deny it without reason, so get the dealer to have Toyota state their reason. Is that an aftermarket sway bar? If so, I'm guessing there's your answer.

          I have found Toyota generally good with warranty, sometimes the biggest hurdle is the dealer. That is definitely a warranty issue provided it was never worked on.

            looks like the bolt was left loose or the thread stripped when you had the after market shocks fitted. You can not really expect Toyota to cover that can you.

              Hence it is to find out if they touched the sway bar bolt when fitted the shocks. The sway bar is factory (KDSS). The dealer said that I have to take it up with Toyota. Have to make some phone calls.

                Swaybar would have been unbolted to do front struts.
                How long have they been in for?
                Could have been nipped up & slowly worked loose.
                Easy fix, drill, tap & new bolt.

                  Asked Toyota why they rejected the claim, the dealership said "Bolts/Nuts are never covered". I think that is quite a dismissive response.

                  Went to the guy that fitted the shocks, he took a longer bolt and a new nut.

                    I found the same story with the plastic clips that retain the side engine access covers on either side of the front suspension. Funny how they disappeared after they pulled the engine out. Must of come of when I was driving out bush. You gotta buy new ones I was told.

                      My clips were covered by warranty as they became brittle due to the fan blowing hot air on to them.
