    G'day

I fit a Scangauge 2 to my 150 series and find it very useful.
Can also get the transmission temperatures on the x-gauges (1 is Torque converter temp and other is transmission temp).

Well worth the money, and also very useful for fuel economy, trip info, reading fault codes and also clearing them.
Must have accessory in my option.

They come with a cable that has a plug that inserts into your OBDII port. I don't know where it is in the 150 but in the 120 it is under the bottom right side of the dash.

Big Kev they are a great tool and gauge as GXL14 said.

It plugs into the OBDII port under the dash in the middle. Poke your head under there and it's pretty easy to spot.

Not only worth while for the gauges and the trip computers but a must have if you go off-road. I had a fault code come up that stopped me changing from low to high range, cleared the code, changed ratios and kept going.

I am about to order one although have a question that I could not find an answer to, if someone could help?
what's the deal on how to show the temp codes, do you just plug it in and scangauge finds them automatically and displays or do I need to input the codes into it? if we need codes, where do we get these from?

Which temp codes? It comes with some inbuilt eg coolant temp which you don't need to do anything to get except choose that gauge. If you are after the Auto Trans codes you have to manually enter your relevant codes as an x gauge (user programmable gauge) which you can choose to display

The whole process is a lot easier to do than it sounds and the manual is pretty good
X gauge codes can be found here:

NP. I think on that list the ATF1 is torque convertor temp and Hilux is Transmission temp. But could be wrong

If you're buying second hand make sure it's a version 4 and not 3. As 3 doesn't display Trans temps. Ample Outdoors will upgrade from v3 for $50

The torque converter sensor and oil pan don't appear to be reporting. ATF A is reporting without the 'c. I purchased new, so its the newest version. I'm thinking of trying ATF 4 and 5 to see if they work more out of curiosity. (I'm taking the punt ATF A is only sensor reporting the trans temp we need.)

Engine temp is also worth while having. The temperature gauge on many modern cars is controlled so it only reads high when the engine is overheating i.e. no better than the old red light.

Hi Peter, is there a code for the engine temp? I haven't seen one listed anywhere...

Chimma, the Scangauge has the engine temp as one of the default gauges.
