MY2014 Kakadu - fitting drawers/fridge slide without removing3rd row seats

Hi all. Has anyone fitted fridge slide and/or drawers to a my14 Kakadu without removing rear seats?
Any info would be appreciated.

Not an MY14 but my MY2009 Kakadu has a false floor and fridge slide fitted and I still have the 3rd row seats in.



I used the rubber cargo mat as a template for the floor which is made from 15mm marine ply with a layer of marine carpet glued over the top. The ply was sealed with 2 coats of marine varnish prior to application of the carpet, the carpet is glued on with instant turf glue.

The trickiest part was lining up the holes for the bolts (we used the bolt holes for the luggage restraint tracks). You need to source appropriate length and diameter bolts to cater for the thickness of the ply, the original ones aren't long enough. Hi ssb14 i was talking to a salesman from ARB the other day and he told me that they ARB are now able fit a set of draws to the back of a Prado, without the need to remove the 3rd row of seats, dont know any details but sounds good, i dont want to have to remove the seats as i have no where to store them. I own a MY14 GXL.

Thanks for the replies. The electric folding seats seem to be an issue when looking for secure mounting points. A custom build might be in order. I can see decent points to secure through the rear mounting rails but the front rails are on the rear of the electric seats and I am not sure of their strength or if the seat's would hold the weight of drawers/fridge.

You will have much more enjoyment from your drawers when you remove your 3rd row.
I was hesitant to permanently remove what had cost hard earned $$ but I don't look back. The gained space, functionality and tidiness makes up for the loss.

I have a series one early 2103 Kakadu and would love some pictures of your rear area. I called into Drifta this year (in my 90 series) and spoke to them about drawers. I'd love to see a picture of your interior!

Also, do you have any tips on getting 17" wheels? Did you sell your 18" ones? I have Coopers on mine with 13k on them, they seem like new. Not sure if its worth keeping them or trying to sell them.

I am looking to buy a trailer, and I think that most require a light truck tyre and tolerate a maximum of 17" wheels with a 70 profile, so the pressures on the trailer tyres can be let down to prevent trailer damage.
